Wool And Velvet – The Essential Winter Fabrics

Winter is most definitely upon us, and with it is the non-stop cold weather. While sitting by a fire is nice, you can't always do this all day long. At some point, you have to go out and brave the elements to go to work, school or run errands. You also may want to get together with your friends and family. So how can you go outside during winter and still keep yourself protected from the cold?

It is both comfortable and warm, falling close to the body to retain heat. Women are particularly fond of velvet dresses. That's because velvet keeps them warm without sacrificing style. You'll most certainly stay toasty warm in a velvet dress, and there's no need to wear additional, bulky layers.

With winter in full swing, it's important that you keep wool and velvet clothing on hand. On the most bitter of days, you can face the weather with a velvet sweater and a wool coat, or snuggle by the fire wearing a simple velvet top and a pair of jeans. While wool is popular for everyday wear, velvet is the choice for more formal celebrations.
